Mark Goodhew BDS

Mark has practised dentistry in Timaru since 1986 and is a current member of the Professional Conduct Committee and former Chair of the Dental Council of New Zealand.

Mark is married with 3 adult daughters and in his spare time enjoys a round of golf and watching rugby.

Emily Wilson BDS

Emily graduated from Otago School of Dentistry in 2013 and is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association. She has worked within the hospital system treating children and special needs adults.

In her spare time Emily is involved with rowing and enjoys exploring the region on her road bike.

David Hutton BDS

David qualified with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 1973. David joined the Timaru Dental team in September 2025 having previously worked at Lumino Temuka and Stafford Dental.

In his spare time David enjoys working with his horses and gardening

Isabela Manzano BDS

Isabela qualified with a Batchelor of Dentistry from the University of Otago in 2024.  Isabela is passionate about Dentistry and providing the best outcomes for her patients.

Outside of dentistry Isabela enjoys reformer pilates, travelling to experience new cultures, baking, reading, and have most recently taken up the hobby of crocheting amigurumi. She also has a keen interest in ancient history (Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Achaemenid) and art history specifically focussed around the Renaissance.

Alex Hearn BDS

Alex qualified with a Batchelor of Dentistry from the University of Otago in 2021 and a Batchelor of Science in 2019. Alex is dedicated and compassionate and strives to give the absolute best outcome for his patients.

In his spare time Alex enjoys football, golf, hunting, fishing and board games.

Patrick Murphy DDS

Patrick has been practicing Dentistry for the last 25 years in the US before moving to Timaru in early 2026 with his wife and two daughters.

Patrick’s experience, combined with his friendly and approachable nature, makes him a wonderful addition to our team.

In his spare time Patrick enjoys seeing what beautiful South Canterbury has to offer, and spending time with his family and friends.

Joy Dunn BOH

Joy graduated with a Batchelor of Oral Health from the Otago School of Dentistry in 2012 and is a current member of the New Zealand Dental Hygienists and Oral Health Therapists Association.

Joy has been with us since 2014 and is passionate about improving individuals oral health and well-being.

In her spare time Joy enjoys dancing and spending time with her husband, family and friends.

Kylee Little

Kylee joined the Timaru Dental team in 2008 and is a qualified Dental Assistant with the New Zealand Dental Association.

As our senior Dental Assistant Kylee is in charge overseeing the maintenance and ordering all of our equipment and products.

Kylee is married and has two children. In her spare time she enjoys music, caravanning and spending time with her family and friends.

Jenna Tomkinson

Jenna joined Timaru Dental team in January 2025 and has already proven to be a key member of the Dental Assistants team.

In her spare time Jenna enjoys sports and driving and spending time with her family and friends.

Evelyn Lyne

Evelyn joined the Timaru Dental team in January 2025 and has proven herself to be a key member in the Dental Assistants team.

In her spare time Evelyn enjoys football and other sports, painting and art.

Meredith Alban-Jones

Meredith joined the Timaru Dental team in 2013 and is a qualified Dental Assistant with the New Zealand Dental Association.

A caring and considerate member of our team Meredith is passionate about dentistry and finds huge job satisfaction in helping others.

In her spare time Meredith enjoys listening music and spending time with her family and friends.

Sophie Leonard

Coming to Timaru Dental as part of the High School Gateway Program Sophie made the decision that she wanted to pursue a career as a Dental Assistant.

She became a permanent member of the Timaru Dental team in 2019 and gained her NZDA qualification in 2020.In her spare time Sophie enjoys spending time with her daughter and catching up with family and friends.

Sarah McLachlan

Sarah joined the Timaru Dental Care team in February 2023 and in 2024 commenced her NZDA Certificate in Dental Assisting.

In her spare time Sarah enjoys outdoor activities, family time, gardening and interior design.

Jesse Brown

Jesse joined the Timaru Dental Care team as a part time Dental Assistant in June 2023 and in 2024 commenced her NZDA Certificate in Dental Assisting.

Prior to joining us Jesse worked as a Vet Nurse and holds a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing and a Certificate in Veterinary Nursing Technician.

In her spare time Jesse enjoys spending time with family and friends, watercolour painting, gardening and voluntary church work.

Barbara Higginson

Barbara joined Timaru Dental Care in 2016 after 34 years in the legal sector.

In her spare time Barbara enjoys spending time at the lakes or away in the caravan with family and friends.

Anya O’Connor

Anya joined the team at Timaru Dental Care in April 2026 and is one of the first friendly faces you will see when arriving at Timaru Dental Care.

Outside of work, Anya loves travelling and is actively involved in coaching volleyball. She is also currently learning to speak Spanish.
